Raise your Maypole

Raise your Maypole

Or in other words… It’s time to celebrate the return of summer and new growth.

Pigtail Memories

Pigtail Memories

“A maypole is a tall wooden pole erected as a part of various European folk festivals, around which a maypole dance often takes place. The festivals may occur on May Day or Pentecost (Whitsun), although in some countries it is instead erected at Midsummer.
As revived, the dance is performed by pairs of boys and girls (or men and women) who stand alternately around the base of the pole, each holding the end of a ribbon. They weave in and around each other, boys going one way and girls going the other and the ribbons are woven together around the pole until the merry-makers meet at the base.”
I can remember being eight or nine and merrily skipping around a Maypole in cut off at the knee type knicker pants. I think I also wore some puffy white pirate style shirt.
Why does this come to mind?
Because it was this month many moons ago that we spent weeks working out the little skipping moves with our ribbons, and celebrating the changing seasons (and there was also that girl with the pigtails)… Needless to say that I was the best dancer, but that short performance did end my Maypole dancing career.

New Growth & What to Remember

  1. Regrowth – Do you sometimes feel like a barren desert, where nothing could ever grow again, particularly love? In life, over time, you will see areas of your life come back to the beauty that it was before. Following a wildfire the forest over time returns.
  2. New Growth – With an open mind and heart not only will you see regrowth in your life but new opportunities and experiences that you may never have known existed or possible.  Open your door and see what’s outside.
  3. Fresh fields – Sometimes you will have to travel outside your comfort zone. Don’t look at life’s situations as Problems but Opportunities to expand your life experiences.
  4. Never Ever Never wear knicker pants or make your kids wear them.

IMO Mission-  Is to help you on your journey through breakup or divorce and give you the opportunity to help others through sharing your personal journeys and discoveries the new you.
