Seasonal Melancholy – Enjoy the Colder Season

Now, if you look at the bigger picture, there are very big decisions that you have to make throughout your life – to accept the conditions in the state that they exist or to accept your own responsibility to change them.

With this in mind, let’s get to the point – dealing with the sad, dark and depressing cold season. Seasonal melancholy is

something tremendously bothersome for a lot of people, and they seem to be unable to transition towards the colder months without catching the aforementioned feelings. Well, that’s why we want to provide you with a few helpful tips on how to properly embrace the winter and not feel bad about it. Let’s take a look.

  1. Soak Up Sunlight

Even though this may seem quite obvious, it’s absolutely paramount. You want to spend as much time as you can outside, soaking up the sunlight. We know its winter and sunny days aren’t exactly common, but they exist. When you manage to get an entire day of sun – don’t waste it inside – go out and soak it up, it’s not that freezing if you stay in the sun.

  1. Plan Ahead

Now, this is particularly convenient and can help you get through some of that Christmas gift-giving depression where you feel like you will never have enough time for the shopping. You can easily figure out whatever it is that you want to gift and purchase it in advance. Sure, you will have to hide it for a few months but, hey, at least you won’t be rushing through the Mall during the busiest days.

  1. Look Forward

Make sure to anticipate the fall and the winter. If you feel depressed that the summer is ending, you are already in the wrong mindset. Keep in mind that fall and winter are seasons just like any other and you can accomplish great things while they last. What is more, you can focus on work and other important endeavors as the time for breaks and free time is over. That’s not bad – focus on your goals and work hard for them.

  1. Learn How to Say no

If you just want to stay at home during the freezing winter nights yet your friends keep asking you out, don’t be afraid to say no. The same goes if someone asks you for a favor that you aren’t comfortable with and whatnot. Spend time for yourself and make it count.

If you follow these tips, you will find that the colder months can actually be pretty enjoyable. Just make sure that you don’t get in the wrong mindset early on.
