The path to self love: 5 ways to take care of yourself while moving on.
A breakup is never easy and ending a relationship often comes with feelings of depression and loneliness. Even though most of us
know that the pain will eventually fade away, it’s still doesn’t take away of the post-breakup ache. There are, however, healthy ways in which you can move on – ways that will help you learn how to use the experience as a positive one and grow and develop yourself into a better and happier person.
Create a routine
The first days after a breakup can often be the hardest. Establish a routine that will help you go through them, while making time to nurture yourself. Schedule a daily time for activities you find relaxing, like watching your favorite comedy show or taking a long bubble bath.
Clean your apartment
Get the vacuum cleaner out of the box and start cleaning your flat! Not only will that make your place far more welcoming and easy to live in, but will also take your mind off the pain. Cleaning is one of the most therapeutic activities you can engage in, so grab the mob and start purging your heart!
Working out releases endorphins, or the so-called “happiness hormones”. Battle the post-breakup blues with some physical activity!
Treat yourself to a spa weekend or a fancy new haircut. Don’t go into excesses, though, moderation is the key to happiness. Pamper yourself and start walking on the path to self-love.
Focus on your platonic relationships
Don’t rush into the next romantic relationship – instead, make some time for your old friends. Sometimes, a shoulder to cry on or a friend to split a bottle of wine with is the only thing you need to recover after a break-up.
